Impossible Question – Friday, August 26th

10% of us do this with our partner everyday.  5% do it several times a day.  What?

A:  Argue/fight

The top three things couples argue about:  money, household chores and in-laws.

On average, women win 60% of arguments, with 40% prepared to cry in order to get their own way.  Men are more likely to back down and admit they were wrong and are quicker to apologize.

2,455 Arguments a Year?

A new study of 3,000 people who are married or in relationships found that the average couple argues 2,455 times a year.  Is it just me, or does that seem like a lot of bickering?  Number one on the list is ‘not listening’ which apparently comes up about every three days (112 times a year).

TOTAL ARGUMENTS PER YEAR  – 2,455

What’s your family doing this afternoon at 2:38?

Does your family seem to be arguing more in the summer months?  Apparently that’s normal, according to a study commissioned by a theme park over in the U.K.  And beware this afternoon at 2:38!  Read on to find out why….

From Newslite:

The average family will endure 84 arguments over the summer holidays, it has been found.

Parental bust-ups over money, how to occupy bored youngsters and fall-outs between the kids themselves means the average family bickers twice every day.

That’s 14 arguments each week and 84 over the six-week week holiday. And more than half of parents admit they argue more with the family over the summer holidays than at any other time of the year.

Oddly the study also revealed there is a most common time for the fights, with 2.38pm said to be when most disputes break out, with each argument lasting an average of 7.19 minutes.

But while the majority of arguments are between the children in the family, more than one in five involve mum and dad… though those can last for days.
