Hutch

Hutch is a 4 1/2 month old redbone coonhound puppy. He has adorable soft long floppy hound ears and would love to find someone to run with him. He a patient, preferably experienced owner with the time to work with Hutch on manners and give Hutch the exercise he craves. After a good workout and lots of play, Hutch is a pretty cuddly guy.

Ellie Mae

Ellie Mae is a pretty black cat, just two years old, who arrived at the shelter as a stray way back in April. Although she stole the hearts of every staff member who worked with her, she had a tough start, bringing up a small litter of kittens and then needing some dental work to make sure she was healthy and comfortable. Some of the extra funds raised for little Solo earlier this year went to help Miss Ellie Mae. She is now ready for a loving home and has much love to share in return! This beauty is very affectionate, loving head and chin scratches. She will then rub against you so that you can scratch anywhere you can reach. She has a very soft coat of fur that you will have hours of fun running your hands through. She has great manners and should make anyone a wonderful companion. She’s just a sweet sweet girl, mellow and kind and deserving of a gentle and happy home.

Aries

Aries is a one-and-a-half-year-old elfin beauty with a longish black and white coat and whispy white whiskers everywhere! A sweet girl, she was surrendered due to a military transfer for her owner. Aries is a talker as well as affectionate and will purr when you scratch her around the ears and chin. She is also active and playful if you wish to play with her. She will roll over on her back to gain your attention and play.

Chachi

This little shih-tzu mix, just 3.5 years old is a great fellow! He arrived at the shelter as a stray and we can’t fathom why his owners never came to fetch him. He’s a fun-loving active boy, seems just fine with other dogs and would do well in a home with kids over six. As an added bonus, it seems that Chachi may be a non-shedder!

Here’s Simba…
Pure wonderfulness in the form of an amiable yellow lab, Simba is a 4.5 year-old dog, a fantastic boy who is very much the typical lab with a gregarious, happy-go-lucky temperament. Not too fond of other male dogs but otherwise a super pet. He is pretty good on the leash, and this is what one of our volunteer dog-walkers had to say about Simba:
“There’s a wonderful dog there by the name of Simba- as volunteers, my daughter and I took him for a walk today- he merits a home and a pic in the calendar. What a handsome beast. Responds to his name, sits, walks well … “

And for our cat lovers, it’s Frankie (sorry, no photo available)
Frankie is a beautiful orange and white tabby senior male cat, with the most striking green eyes and the funniest feline tail we’ve ever seen. You’d have to meet Frankie to see the quirky tail but in general it likes to lay flat on his back and even when pet upright, will simply spring back into place!
Frankie is a friendly, affectionate guy, surrendered to the shelter when his owners could no longer care for him. He’s good with dogs and would be a great fit for any home.
Bingo

Bingo is a gigantic orange tabby with just as much love to give as he is wide. A bit on the chunky side but really Bingo is just a big feller! He’s nine years old and is a very affectionate member of the KHS’ Seniors to Seniors program. Bingo’s been at the shelter for three months now and tells us that he REALLY REALLY wants to go home with someone.

Melody
Pretty, pretty Melody is a two-year-old yellow female lab mix. A great girl, Melody would be a lovely family pet but would prefer to be the only furry family member. She’s much happier when she has her humans all to herself.
